Sir, could you kindly give me directions to the Euphemism?
Racewank is still going on. Huh.

I still crack up when someone wants to call it an "imbroglio." Ah, euphemisms.

In other news: I'm staying home to work on that essay I thought was due March 17th.

Sigh. I should have switched the grading on this class to Pass/Fail last week. Then I could focus on classes that are important to me, like Asian history and Sanskrit, rather than my absolutely dreadful Greek history class.

I believe imbroglio was chosen not as a euphemism, but as a more accurate alternative to "wank." Wanks are blow-ups over stuff not of interest to many outside of the particular fandom. The ongoing series of discussions known as RaceFail09, or the Cultural Appropriation Debate, date back to con panel discussions in 2006, and is much bigger than a wank, transcending a specific fandom.

Nah. It's a euphemism. FanLib was a wank for example, yet it was about author rights. Strikethrough was a wank, yet it was about censorship.

Wank is the faffing people do around important issues. Those guys who outed [info]coffeeandink? Definitely wankers.
