3. "Jack. Okay. Let's say I did have a yard sale. How many people in Boulder do you think will buy Epistemology in Ancient Mesopotamia for fifty cents?"
4. "You may play with my hair," Arthur said.
5. "Pick it up!" Arthur actually whacked Merlin's bottom with the flat of his blade. "No cowards on the practice field. I won't allow it."
6. "I shall mock your tonsure," Arthur assured him, although it was a little too soon for lightness and Merlin flinched.

Chipping away at uploading the older stories. 53 of my fics are now uploaded to An Archive Of Our Own.

The Beg Me For It series is now up at the Archive.
I've taken "Celebrate Life" out of the flow of the story, although I will upload it as a separate fic within that universe. I've done the same with the 20 or so drabbles.
Question: would you like me to do the same on my website? Am I right that it's irritating to have to plough through a series of drabbles to get to the next part of the series? |

Cool. I just heard that a friend of a friend was working up in the arctic circle when an MGM television crew stopped by their cooking camp.
Apparently how it works is that they fly people up there, set up a camp, and then anyone who's doing anything in the arctic goes that camp for supplies and food.
MGM was filming Stargate Continuum.
She met Rick Anderson and the entire SG-1 crew. I'll let you know if I hear any anecdotes. |

It may surprise some to know that, yes, I do occasionally write Gen. It's accidental and I try to keep it to a minimum, but fanfic is a bit like breeding orchids. Sometimes you get unexpected results.

New York is going to recognize gay marriages from other states.
Aside from the fact that this is wonderful, this is going to clear up a major bureaucratic hassle. I've heard that divorces are particularly problematic when your marriage is not recognized in the first place. State agencies have been left boggled not knowing what to do.
And think of the child custody of married gay couples, now secure (hopefully). The health insurance benefits. Having access to your partner if they're in the hospital, able to make decisions on their behalf if they're incapacitated. Your will being reconized. Hell, even stupid stuff like the phone company letting you ask questions about you and your partner's phone bill.
In honor of this, I bring back my not-cloying-I-promise gay marriage fic, written when the first gay servicemen got married in Ontario:

I blew off an entire day. *guilty grin*
I did reorganize the Harry Potter fics on my website. Make them easier to navigate, like my Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis pages.
I've linked the fan art and translations to each story page (s), so they're no longer sitting by themselves on the <href="http://www.icarus.slashcity.net/artpage.html">fan art</a> and translations pages but people can clickity-do-dah when they find the stories. Of course, since many links go straight to the fic, ideally I'd have them in the story itself, but one step at a time.
Of interest to (I imagine) no one but me: Fanhistory.com imported the publish dates of all my fics. This is something that I'd planned to do myself someday as a way to gloat look at the development of my writing style. (Also of interest only to me, and maybe dad.) Cool.

Like I said earlier, I'm having a miserable day. A depressing day, in fact. No, I don't want to talk about it. No, there's nothing I can do about it.
I'm going to curl up in a ball and write. And hide. And not come out.
So I'm giving you: Comfort fic. Soft, fluffy happy stuff. Comic stories. Stories where there's never any doubt of a happy ending. The ones that make me feel good from beginning to end. After all, surely I'm not theonly onehaving a bad day?

Yet it's not really chan since Harry isn't drastically younger or less mature than Percy and has none of the power issues of the genre. Instead it's gentle exploration... and there's that lake and teenage sneaking around....

How about some accidental incest? With tough implications -- and over a year's worth of clean-up afterward. (I always liked Bill in this.)
